In August 2013, I arrived at Headway East London after suffering a stroke.
This is the first painting I did in the studio and it was the start the start of a journey in which I used art to “deal with” my brain injury, to explore and self-analyse aspects of my newly acquired disability.
I went on to make series paintings first about the trauma of my stroke, about memory and attention, about emotion, and most recently about processing โ how the brain figures out what we do, how to do it and in what order.
I guess all these art projects are my way of taking back control, an attempt to change the understanding of the word disability to mean this ability.
Apologies for spelling mistakes

Honestly, Dulcy, they are nit very good. I put all of my artwork on Instagram @billyscraps, but only blog about the ones that have a story. Thank you for your kind words.
