Short story: To Sir With Love

William
You’ve surprised me. Some rare words of praise from a hard-bitten critic. You said To Sir With Love was “awesome”, which I understand to mean good.

I just watched a bit for the first time in years, and yes it is. I can still remember the mood of the country in those days regarding race, and it’s easy to forget how far we’ve come.

In the late 60s I had a black female friend aged eight, the same as me, and she was the only one in the school. The abuse she suffered daily was unbelievable.

Hope that wasn’t too heavy or self-righteous for this time of night. Off to bed now, goodnight and sleep well,
Stuart.
PS: Lulu is the best white blues singer we ever had.
