Artwork Archive: The Moon

This time last year we were kicking ideas around the studio on what we could do about the Moon. All the events and activities for the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo landing were up and running. I thought it was a subject Submit to Love artists might get a kick out of.

It didn’t work out that way. All I can remember is Errol’s picture of Thunderbird 5 and talking a lot about that remarkable TV puppet show.

I gashed together the above collage hoping another of our artists, Tony Brooks, who is famous for his line drawings and his twisted humour, would enjoy the idea of an astronaut (just seen, left) strolling on the Moon to find a dog using it as a toilet.

Again, the idea failed to find a home. Never mind, maybe in another 50 years we will finally get there.
