Teachers trapped in sink-or-swim switch to new ways of working


If they’re lucky enough not to have been plunged into quarantine, university students now face the pain of watching their lecturers and tutors think on their feet.

This is Education Today, not a lofty intellectual pursuit for a chosen few, but a bustling business based on selling knowledge. What wins is what works. Face-to-face at a strict 2m or in a group rendezvous on any available communication cloud, teacher and pupil of the Coronavirus era have become the reluctant pioneers of a new way forward, the lab rats of learning.

There will be a lot lost along the way. New systems might casually lay waste to even the best of the old ones. As it happens, resuurrection will look like a remote prospect. But not an impossible one.
